On July 28, 2022, we convened special guests Erika Richmond and Danny Nowell at Vecino Brewing Co. for refreshments and a conversation about equity, civic engagement, and advisory boards.

Using data from the Center for Civil Rights’ Planning Boards Inclusion Project and data about diversity and inclusion in our own local advisory boards, we discussed the importance of representation in decision-making, why service is important, and how to get involved.

Panelists:
– Erika Richmond | Postdoctoral Fellow, UNC Center for Civil Rights
– Danny Nowell | Carrboro Town Council
